    Juicy brakes with Shimano mounts/rotors?

I've got Avid Juicy 7 brakes on one bike (with 8"/7" rotors and adaptors) that I'd like to try on another. The other bike has got Shimano Deore brakes with 6" rotors and adaptors.

Both brakes are post mount, so can I just swap the juicy calipers onto the shimano mount adaptors? Will they work with Shimano rotors?

Read the sticky at the top of the page.

If the braking path (blade) of the rotor is wide enough that there is no overhang with the pads, then you can use the rotors. IIRC, the Deores have a fairly wide rotor. The adapters should work fine. Just watch out to see if the tab on the pad hits the adapter or if the caliper bottoms on the adapter before the bolts can be tightened all the way.

Double check this, but I do believe Deore mechanical disc brake rotors were not made for Sintered Metallic pads...resin only.

Not sure if you have the hydros or mechanicals, but since the Juicy 7's usually come with metallic pads, its good info to know.

That is correct- the RT52 are for resin pads only.
