Upset Juicy 5 Problems, and its not the sounds...

I have a GF HiFi Deluxe, 2008 model. i've had it for just over a year now and i've been through about 10 sets of pads on the rear brake. i haven't worn them out, they have fallen out. i'm not doing any hard core drops or overly extreme riding. just typical trail riding, what the bike was designed for, and the brakes just drop, like biscuits from a horse. has anyone had any troubles like this from thiers? my buddy at the LBS is checking it out today and contacting avid about the problem but we figured we see if this was happening to anyone else as well. any insight would be greatly appreciated

Just guessing based on what you written...........sounds like the pad springs were not installed. They keep the pads against the disc pistons and keep the pads from "falling out". The pistons have a little "nub"/point" that goes inside a "hole" in the back of the pad that keeps the pads where they belong and from falling out. Let us know hat the shop found.

The center post in the piston could be worn out? The H-spring is worn out? The spring clip at the top of the caliper is worn out? Are you using OE pads?
