    Juicy 5 Modulation Question

Came across this in a review on another site...

The bike is spec’d with Avid Juicy 5s, which don't have the adjustability of their big brother Juicy 7s. I found them difficult to set up so they felt just right. To get rid of the severe on/off feel, we inserted the thickest spacers we could find and then bled off some fluid.
Just wondered what he meant by the comment on inserting the spacers?

I guess... it's only a guess.. that they mean the spacers in the place of the pads (meaning to push the pistons all the way back) while letting a bit of fluid out the lever bleed valve...

Seems to make sense i guess. Anyone else have any other tips and tricks? I've seen that Steve Peat files grooves into his pads.
