Juicy 5 brakes still mushy after bleeding...

I've put on new pads, bled the brakes 3 times, verified the calipers are working, but my brakes are still mushy and not very good. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Try zip-tying the lever to the bars over night. This will force any last bubbles of air up into the lever reservoir and out of the system. If the brakes are still squidgy then bleed again.Avids can be a ***** to bleed but once done they're good.
If all this fails then it could be faulty seals/hoses.

Did you follow Avid's directions or some garage mechanic's youtube video?

Have you given the new pads time to bed in?

I did the procedure in the avid instruction manual, also tried a method from youtube. I have1 ride on the new pads. I don't remember them being like this before when I changed them.

Have you checked the seals and pistons? If anything is sticking, that can cause mushiness.

But the main cause is air, IME. Was the DOT fluid fresh?
