How to tell if V-Brake Pads are just replacable.

I need new brakes for my bike and Im not sure if I can buy just the pads or if I need the whole thing. I have a raleigh mojave 2.0 with factory brakes.
EDIT: Also what is the difference between threadless and threaded pads?

You probably need the whole thing - pad with the post.

Cartridge style brake pads usually have an aluminum backing. The pad material is held in by a small clip.

Threadless pads are typically for cantilever brakes and the like.

Go to your LBS. They can help you figure out exactly what you need.

OK. I think I have to get threaded because I use Linear Pull brakes.

Some V-brakes also use so-called peg mount pads (my old STX-RCs for example) so check out what you have, it's one of 3 things:
*cartrodge pads with replaceable pads bit and solid holder
    *Normal threaded pads
    *Peg-mount pads with no threads
