    How to mount disc brakes?....

    Well, not quite that simple......

I replaced my fork recently with a Marzocchi Z150 FR which is a QR 20 through-axle. I also replaced the 160mm rotors for my Shimano XT (4-piston model) brakes with 203mm rotors. Now I need some Shimano adapters to use these 203mm rotors.

Universalcycles.com has the Shimano rear adapter I need, but not the front. It seems that, according to them, the Shimano adapter needed for the front is different than than that for the back. This I did not expect. They don't seem to have have the one I need for the front (i.e. 51 IS mount mount to 51 IS caliper).

Can anyone direct me to some place that has the two adapters (Shimano brand preferably) that I need? Any help would be much appreciated!

Front and rear spacing is different and 20 mm through axle spacing is different than QR. You need to look for a 203mm rotor 51mm to 51mm 20mm through axle adaptor.

    Fun, huh?

The trouble with common sense is it is no longer common
