Hope Tech vs Race Matchmaker? Difference?

Whats the difference between the Hope Tech matchmaker and the Hope Race Matchmaker.

I am mounting Avid Elixir CR and SRAM X9's

I prefer the Hope Tech or Avid's because the metal looks a little more trustworthy than Avid's plastic mount.

They both list compatible with SRAM I can't tell if the race is plastic or what? Does one allow more adjustability and the other is fixed?

    Any thoughts please share them

I'm a little dense I think you are saying the race matchmaker is for hope brakes paired with shimano or SRAM. Obviously the tech matchmaker combines Elixirs with SRAM etc.. is that what you mean?

Hope Match maker clamp are designed to work with only Hope brake levers. Either "Tech" Levers or "Race" Levers. You can then order them in the shifter design you require. These being XTR, XT/Saint or Sram specific. "Tech"s available in silver or black colouring and "race" only in black.

Interesting the product description states they work with avid levers. One of the reviewers used them with juicy's I may try and make em work with my elixir CR's and X9's

The "Tech" matchmaker clamps may work on the avid levers if the hole-to-hole dimensions match up. Don't think it would look too great though as the colouring will be different and clamp design will differ from the avid original.

    Your call.

The tech have a vertical split for the clamp, the race have a horizontal split, so get the right ones for your brakes! I have both types of hope brakes on two different bikes, so this is definitely the case!

Hope that helps (not sure if they fit avid, but they's certainly not look right IMHO)

Sounds like I need to pass on this one then. I just can't bring myself to trust the Avid Matchmaker plastic and was hoping to use the metal hope version.

Interesting, I asked over the phone when I ordered Avid Matchmakers with pricepoint and they told me they were plastic, so I canceled them. Or at least they thought they were in the photo.
