Hope Tech Evos
I've been running Avid brakes for years, Juicy 7's, Elixir CR's, Elixir 9's, Codes. Always were a PIA to bleed, always had some squealing going on. I built up a new race 29er, a Carbon Titus Rockstar with Hope Tech Evo Stealths. Super clean brakes, easy to set up, easy to bleed, and so far super quiet. These things are a thing of CNC beauty. I was so impressed with them, I ordered another set for my Titus EL Guapo to replace the Elixir 9's. I went with a Tech Evo X2 rear 160mm and a Tech Evo M4 front with a 180mm rotor. I also picked up Hope's version of the matchmaker clamp, super clean and adjustable.

Clean and tidy. Great looking setup.

There is a reason why Hope builds the best brakes in the industry. They just flat out work, and work well.

I love that setup! Unfortunately my brake levers and shifters are not integrated so I have problems with setting my Hope Tech X2's up. I brake with one finger and in order to do that, I need to move the brake levers inboard the handlebars. However, this also moves the shifters with it, making it harder to shift. Do you guys run your shifters in between your brakes and grips? Or do you run your brake levers in between your shifters and grips?

They make for sram as well. Shifter conflict with the hope brakes is a common issue.

The old tech lever are a bit long compared to the new evos. The order is grips, shifter, then brake. I even do this on my set of m4 evos, even though the levers are a bit smaller

Does this work? Would the shifters not get in the way of the brake levers?

^You angle the shifters down away from the lever. Plus it depends on what model shifter you have. Some of the lower end SRAM/Shimano shifters are bulky so they can't be placed close enough to the Hope levers

I have always run my shifters inboard of the levers. I cut the rear line today on the new set of evos on the El Guapo, these things are so stupid simple to bleed, no syringes, no rubber bands, literally takes less then 10 minutes. I remember bleeding avids, after 20 minutes you think you are done, you seal up the system and then you have nothing at the lever and you start all over.

Thank you for posting the Gripshift picture.... that just sealed my decision up tight. Hope Tech M4s for my 13 Camber Comp...

I have SLX shifters with Hope Tech X2 brakes. Will try putting the shifters between the brakes and grips today!

I just use grip shifters. Problem solved. The Hopes did mount quite a bit more inboard than my Avids though. in one case, I needed to pick up a wider handlebar to accommodate 1 finger braking.

I totaly agree, I rebuilt my bike this winter and went just about Hope on everything I could, brakes M4's 185 front and back, saw blade rotors, hope Stem, match makers for my Sram X9 goodies, Hope hubs and scewers, ohh and a bash guard as I went 2x10 and wanted ring protection. Adding a little bling now, just replaced the lever with red ones and getting the reservoir covers and the inserts for the calipers.
