    Hope Tech Evo X2

    I need to purchase some pads for these brakes and am leaning towards 2 sets of EBC Red pads;

    EBC RED BRAKE PADS - HOPE X2 | eBay

    Has anyone used these pads? and if are they any good?

    The pads in the link say they are for Hope X2 so I assume they will fit the X2 Evo??

    X2 and X2 EVO are the same brake - the only difference being a redesigned lever pivot position.

    EBC Reds are good. Also consider Brake Authority pads.

    Thanks for the info, I thought the Hope brakes came without pads but have been informed that Hope supply pads with the new brakes so I will see how I get on with the original pads and maybe upgrade in the future.

    Cheers

    The original pads are good. I found they took a little longer than I would have expected to bed in, but once bedded, were alright.

    I will say though that I have found Brake Authority pads to be better. EBCs are, from what I have heard, really good too.

    Give the existing ones a go, see how they work for you, and go from there

    Red EBC pads are the best I have ever used.

    I was very underwhelmed with the stock pads, and the EBC Green's that I'm now running are bunk. The Brake Authority Aggressive Compounds were fantastic though . . . I'm on a search for them.

    Bad. For what I ride, they didn't work well at all. I typically hit 5+ mile descents dropping ~2K feet in elevation and they simply weren't up to the task.

    Cool, thanks for confirming.

    I wont be riding anything like you do but if I do go for some EBC's I will go for the reds.
