    Hope brake lever blade question

What is the material that Hope uses on the lever blade to stop the metal on metal contact? It's a black shim and there are two of them. Is it metal or plastic, I can't work it out.

It's plastic, most likely nylon as it has self-lubricating properties.

Use a magnet if it gets drawn to it then it's metal if not then it's a different material.

Not all metals are magnetic, e.g. aluminium is not.

    He doesn't know that.

That's not the only thing; read most of his posts.

Usually shims between the lever and holder are metal like stainless steel or fiber like Teflon, fiber being the more common nowadays.

But the OP isn't asking a general question, is he? The questions was specific to Hope levers. It had also already been answered, or do I need to prefix my response with "I can confirm that..." in order to be spared from yet another of your pointless posts, complete, as always, with its gaudy, technicolour SPAMcoat?

    Sir Steve,

I must call you out and ask what such qualifications you have to do such things as speak about Hope products as if you have initimate experience with them. It's not like you're as experienced as this guy, or anything.

Kidney is just plain wrong, especially in a steak pie. May I ask which search term you used to come up with that image, or is it plucked from your private collection?
