Hones vrs. XT 756 pad retraction question

I have some Hone calipers and LX levers on my 29er and XT's on my double boinger. I like the Hone's better because the piston's retract all the way into the caliper while the XT's won't retract as far giving me less lever play. Any ideas on how to get the XT piston's to retract further?

You can in a sense adjust the throw by slipping feeler gauges between the two pads and rotor then put a hose on the caliper nipple crack the bleed loose to allow fluid to rise out then re-snug the nipple. Remove feeler gauges and check lever throw. Normally on Hayes a pair of .015 are perfect yet on Avids I have gone up to .035 for more lever throw.
