    HFX-9 bleed confusion

This is my first time working on hydraulic brakes and am in the process of bleeding them. As I am reading through the Hayes instructions, it says:

    8: Close the caliper bleeder.
    9:
10: Open the caliper bleeder 1/4 turn

Is this simply done by tightning and loosening the bleed screw? When it is tight it's closed, to open loosen screw 1/4 turn?

    Thanks

I just answered my own question. I thought the bleed screw was just a port with a hole thru it, not realizing it's sealed off completly when it's tightend.

One thing that crossed my mind as I was finishing up the bleed was, why dosn't the hydraulic forces push that plastic resevoir plug out of the lever?

The harder you push on the inside of the seal the tighter it closes. You have to push from the outside to open it.
