Hey yall. I'm having a lot of trouble getting my v-brakes to work properly. They are the old style, no pivot point in the middle. On my rear brake the side with the end of the cable will not return to open, so it stays against the wheel and drags pretty heavily. I have tried adjusting the screw that tensions the return spring and completely re adjsted the cable tension and possitioning of the arms. The housing for the spring has 3 possitions it can go into when mounting it to the frame, I have tried all three possitions followed by re adjusting the arm possition, spring tension, and cable tension again. I watched several youtube videos and read a few "instructions" on how to do it (I've never messed with the brakes before) and got the mechanics of them figured....just can seem to figure out why I still get one side that drags and wont return.
Any tips or suggestions besides "Go disc" or any of that? It's not in the budget. Thanks!
