    Help My Avid Mech. exploded!!!!

Well, not exactly exploded. The red adjuster knob flew off while riding and the spring and rubber piece were hanging on by a thread. My question is, how do I get the adjuster knob back on? If I thread it back in it also pushes the pad against the rotor and if I losen it, it falls back off again. Is ther a lock piece I am missing or do you have to remove the red cap some how? Thanks in advance.

    Just did the same thing

I lost mine however....mine was the inner screw. I emailed them & within hours was promised a new knob via mail. Good service. I'm curious about your re-installation issue as I may have the same problem when mine gets here.

It looks like it should snap in, maybe there is a tab on there that has broken off? Hopefully, mine will be here in the next day or so & I will let you know if someone doesn't beat me to it.

I didn't know there was any rubber involved, was yours the outside knob?

Yes, mine is the outside knob. I can't seem to find a lock piece that may have broken off I checked my front brake and don't see anything else.

Nevermind, I found it on Avid's web site. It's under Ball Bearing service guide.
