I bought a "pair of BB7 brakes" from a local forum this week and I received them today.
Can anyone help me identify the age of these brakes? I also noticed that one of them is labelled as a BBDB and not BB7. How are these different to BB7s?
Edit: sorry about the photo quality - BlackBerrys aren't good macro cameras.
Looks like Avid's original mech disc, the BBDB (ball bearing disc brake). Not sure about the differences btwn the BBDB and the current BB7, maybe someone else can comment on that. I have a set of BBDB's from 2002, and they work great.

Yeah now that you mention it, I did some googling and I found the Avid patent filed in 2000 which has a drawing just like the so-called BB7 in the photo:

Pretty light though, and with EXR Pros and Hayes hydros for $350, you really can't go wrong.
