New question here. HELP: Avid 160mm to 203mm adapter assistance needed.

I just got a 2008 Bianchi Sok with Avid 160mm rotors / Avid calipers on my REBA rock shox. We ride a lot of long steep trails in SoCal and at the advice of some riding friends, I decided to upgrade the front rotor to 203mm. I had no problems putting the new rotor on my 29er, but when it came to putting the adapter on the fork, I'm lost. Maybe I'm missing something? I bought the Avid adapter for 203mm. What now?

Anyone done this and have pics? Directions? HELP?

    Thank you very much!!

I think you better get some new friends. No way you should be putting a 8 inch rotor on a REBA...

yes, but i'm quite ugly so i keep what i get.
i'm 6'1, 190lbs. should i go to 185? or just keep 160? will the 203 just be too much or are you saying the reba isn't a good match?

    thanks.

I guess I should retract my statement. I didnt realize that REBA's can now be outfitted with up to a 210mm disc?? My initial reaction is that a 203mm disc is too much for a REBA, but if SRAM says it can take it....then go for it.

Buzz, it has always been cleared for rotors up to 210mm

gosurfninja, the setup for the 203 should look similar to this

Unless it's a IS mount Reba...

Are your tabs IS mount or post mount? Post mount is the picture above.

Are you sure you got the right adapter? Are you remember to include the CPS washer stack?

Perhaps you should take it to a bike shop.

Rebas have always been able to run larger rotors.

ahhhh. i think it's an IS mount (and i have a post adapter).
have to check again when i get home.

gonna stick with the 203mm since i already opened it and put it on my wheel.

thanks everyone for helping a simpleton. love mtbr forums!
