I have Hayes Stroker Carbon brakes that came on my 2011 Cannondale RZ One Twenty 2 which I bought brand new last October (6 months ago).
Within a few days of purchasing the bike I did notice a bit of brake fluid around the reservoir cap of the lever/master cylinder. I immediately cleaned away the brake fluid with water so it wouldnt corrode any of the parts and made sure the reservoir and bleed screws were tight.
About a month ago I again noticed a little brake fluid, I might not call it a leak, more of a weeping of the break fluid around the small hole of the reservoir cap. The brakes work fine, and it probably takes at least a month for maybe one drop to exit.
This time when I wiped away the brake fluid the paint came off with it, obviously corroded from the DOT fluid.
Is this normal for bicycle hydraulic braking systems to weep like this?
