    Hayes Front Brake issues...

    Hi all,

I got a Santa Cruz Superlight (2001 or 2002.. I bought it used). The brakes seem to work fine but the front brakes have been squeaking excessively lately. I removed the tire and replaced it on the fork to see if that would change anything and it didn't. Any suggestions?

Also, a bit off the subject my back skewer (salsa) seems to be stuck, how could I unloosen it without breaking anything?

    Thanks.

hayes brakes are a bit sensitive when gets dirty, or pads are worn out. i suggest try cleaning them. on your qr try spraying it with WD40 or other types of penetrant.

    hope this helps

    Thanks Metajkt for your response!

Well my brake pads are fairly new. I will try to clean them and see if that makes a difference. If that fails I will take it to my local bike shop to have them check it out since I am not very familiar with disc brakes.

    Thanks again!
