I had a RS Psylo with an 8" adaptor for Hayes (p/n 98-15604) that I transferred over to my '04 Z1 FR SL. It works, but is adjusted all the way to the inside, which sucks. I went and double checked on Hayes (web and called) and they only suggest an adaptor for 6" rotors (p/n 98-15068) on the QR version of the Z1. I was completely under the impression that this fork was OK for a 8" rotor, but Hayes says that there are safety issues, and won't reccomend the correct adaptor to put on the 8". I'm pretty peeved. Hayes recommends a 8" rotor for the 20mm axle version of the Z1 (adaptor p/n 98-15069). I'm sticking with the 8" rotor, but I'm wondering if I should buy the 20mm adaptor and see if it fits better, or stick with the Psylo version that is speced for a QR fork? They look the same in the manual drawing, but I can't really tell.
Thanks for any advice
