Has anyone used this adapter with Avid Mechs?

I have a 5 year old Schwinn that has the Hayes 22mm mount on the chain stays. I want to run a 160mm disc in the rear with some 700c wheels with disc hubs.

Has anyone used this Shimano adapter and Avid Mechs with success?

    One thing to consider...

Though I haven't used the setup you propose, I do know that the main issue is whether there will be room for the adapter and the caliper in that corner of the rear triangle. The caliper that was meant to bolt directly to that 22mm chainstay mount was a fairly low profile Hayes model. If the mounts were on the seatstay, it would work fine.
