First off, please don't lambaste me too bad for running Avid brakes. These are 2012's with the supposedly improved taperbore MC. There are so many threads here dismissing Avids out of hand as being terrible brakes. I have heard the same sentiments from other riders in real life, so I totally believe they have problems. I consider myself lucky. These brakes have been nothing short of perfect for me. I love the Avid feel, and they are very powerful. They have been bled once without incident as preventative maintenance and not to correct a problem.
Today I reduced my rear rotor size from 180 to 160, as I have lost some weight and think 180 was a bit of overkill. While I was at it, I replaced the AVID pads with SwisStop, just to see if there is a difference in feel/longevity.
