    G3 Rotor with BB7's?

Are the G3 rotors from the Elixir CR's compatible with the BB7 brakes?

Rotors are rotors. As long as the diameter and the mounts allow the pads to line up to the braking surface and the rotors fit the pad clearance, youre good.

To answer the particular situation, no they are not. G3 rotors have a smaller brake surface then G2, which suit the BB5 and Elixir better. The BB7 and some others have larger pads and needs a wider braking surface, which the G2 has. Even there, the G2 is very limit. Using the G3 with BB7 will result in uneven pad wear and bad braking, plus it might just be noisy as hell and cause problem with your braking power.

You can see how much surface the BB7 needs, even using 203mm G2 rotor. The darker zone is the actual braking surface that the BB7 needs. And it's going even a bit over the normal braking surface of this rotor.
