Front Formula Brake Rotor VERY Grabby, Ideas Why?

Recently replaced my old avid brake rotors with some formula R1 rotors. Brakes are the Oro k-18s. I absolutely love the brakes except the front is very grabby with the new formula rotor, it sounds like the drilled holes are just grinding the brake pads down hard and they are very hard to modulate correctly due to the unpredictability grabbiness.

Anyone have some ideas on why they are doing this or if its normal? Im thinking of replacing the front only with a solid rotor with no slots or drilled holes.

BTW the rear is not grabby at all (same rotor, pads, calipers)

the holes are to prevent glazing of the pads, so you are right about what they are doing. might try switching the front with the rear and see if the problem follows the rotor, or if it stays with the pads.

Its stays with the front pads even with a different rotor... Maybe I should try some sintered pads up front?

ah, good work. being the curious type, i would switch the pads front to back, and then see how they felt on the rear.
