Do I need Shimano ICE Tech rotors for my XT's?

    HI,

I'm need of some rotors. Just picked up a set of Shimano XT brakes but need rotors. I'd like a 180mm in the front and 160mm in the back. Do I need Shimano XT Ice tech rotors or will any shimano rotor work?

I strongly recommend that you get ice tech. You may get away with other ones, but considering you already got XT you should pony up and get the package. They're great rotors.

What brake pads are you using for your XTR brake and Magura Storm SL rotor setup? I have XT brakes and I'm getting that rotor; I think the option is either Resin (G01A) or Metal (G03S) brake pads.

Also, did you have to change the brake adapters or anything?

    Thank you for the info,
    Damian
