I'm from Trinidad, land of few bike parts, and currently on a trip to Germany. I want to get disk brake pads for my bikes but don't know what kind! One bike is a 2006 Bianchi MUSS with Avid Mechanical disk brakes, and the other bike has shimano deore hydraulic disc brakes with 6 bolt rotors, from about 2004. Suggestions appreciated.
yes, but what kind of brake pads? Do any Avid pads work for any Avid brake, and any Shimano pads for any Shimano brake? I don't know which model number of brakes I have, so does that matter?
You'll need pads that fit the brakes that you have, there's many different pads that will only fit certain brakes. Have a look at the links and you can see the different pads:
OK, thanks. I suspected that I needed the brake model, since when I checked the internet stores there were so many disk pad types. I looked on the brakes before I left and couldn't see model numbers. I should have pulled out a pad from each bike! Oh, I'm in Muenster, most cycling friendly city in the world. Clearly the pads are available here, if only I knew which ones I needed.
Ah, I know Munster well. Drahtesel is not bad. I think their shop guys actually do know their stuff. They are loaded with work, however.
