Disc brakes for newbies - XT M785 / 180mm Ice Tech setup

I recently got my first 29er HT. Love the bike but the brakes are just not up to the task of stopping me. The current brakes are Tektro Aquilas on 160mm six bolt discs.

My plan is to upgrade the wheelset to something which flexes less (separate issue) and put a full XT M785s on Ice Tech 180mm rotors front and rear.

-If I order just the two XT six bolt discs plus the front and back brakes, are there other parts I need to have a complete set?
-Do I need an adapter for the XT M785 to use on a 180mm rotor?
