    Disc Brake smoking hot.

    yesterday went mt. bike after coming down a hill with too much braking found my brake lever lost pressure and check the rear brake smoking hot and fluid is leaking upon close inspection 1 bolt on the caliper is kind a loose. why this happens ?

    shimano m555 disc brakes .. and this is a brand new bike .. although its a 03 model
    bike is an Enduro Expert bought it couple weeks ago.

    how steep and long was the downhill, did you drag the brakes (and for how long)? Have you ridden the bike musch since new, maybe you just have to tackle the easier route to allow the brakes to break in.

    this is my 2nd ride on the bike and im kind a newbie on mt. biking and the hill is steep.
    i probably did drag the brake, but i dint even realize i was doin that till i was in the middle on the hill and find out i dont have rear brake anymore.
    im taking it to the LBS i got it from ..how much u think its gonna cost me to fixed this
    the average charge.
