Deore v brakes with avid levers?

So I have a bike that I've been working on just as like a project bike and learning how to tool it myself. I just recently replaced the rear cogs with a single speed conversion. My next task are the brakes. I was thinking about getting these:

Will these work well together? I'm just looking to get ride of these dang cantilevers. I can't stand them..

    Here's some pics:

I don't like those FR5 levers - no linkage - feels kinda crappy. But they'll work just fine with the Deore v-brakes. The Performance brand levers/calipers are great bang for the buck and are often on sale.

What do you mean by no linkage? What about the Shimano brand Deore?
