Deore hydro levers w/ XT hydros?

Ok I am ordering my new brakes from QBP tomorrow and have decided on the XT Hydros, but to save about $22 I want to use the Deore Hydro levers... they look identical, feel identical, and weight 4g less if you get the black/silver model. Any reason they won't work? I called QBP and they weren't 100% sure what the difference btwn. the XT and Deore levers is.

    Thanks

All of the Shimano hydraulic levers work with all of the Shimano calipers...mix and match to your heart's content.
