    cracked hayes lines

I was wondering if I should replace the line on my hayes brakes. The black covering cracked and I can see the kevlar braids when I turn the bars and the cable moves. Do you guys think this will effect power or modulation? I dont have a chance to ride for a while as I am in the process of building my bike.

Definitely replace them - I had the same issue...they started leaking during a ride and I ended up finishing the ride with no rear brakes and fluid all over the rear triangle.

Check out Goodridge lines, they're more expensive and better.

I have the Goodridge lines on my bike and they are great. I have cracked two stock Hayes lines and leaked fluid all over.
