    Contaminated pads?

Can anyone that has had "contaminated" disc brake pads tell me what the symptoms are? This would be contamination from brake fluid or other sources.

Does this result in loss of power, or perhaps vibration?
Question to a custom frame builder..."So what makes your bikes climb better?"....his answer, "Uh, your legs?"

    My experience,

When I have gotten brake fluid on brake pads it really reduced the stopping power. It felt like the rotor just kept on turning in the calipers and that the pads wouldn't take hold against the rotor. That was true even after I soaked the crap out of them with Brake Kleen. I'm afraid that once you get much brake fluid on your pads they're pretty much done for and you need to get new pads. Mine just felt like they wouldn't grab at all. Put on new pads and it was completely different.
