closeout sales and other discount offers?

I'm in the process of building a new 29er and since i ordered the frame from the US i might as well buy some brakes too. trouble is, i have no idea which US online stores are best or currently have good offers on brakes. is there any offer currently that is too good to pass, like the jenson deal on the manitou minute 29er fork?

my budget is a little too tight to squeez in formula k18, otherwise i would have gotten those straight from europe, since they're made here. i'm mainly looking for a decent dollar to weight ratio, so i'll prolly have to go for some cheap hydros. any ideas?

Exactly how much are you looking to spend on each wheel for hydros?

Do you already have controls? do you want to go with shifter/brake combo?

If you need everything you may be better off using BB7's in 185mm

$100 x 2 doesn't get you very far using hydros.

If you really want good hydros @ that price point look on Ebay

i don't really need good hydros, just decent ones. i weigh 175 and do some medium to heavy xc, but not very long descents. on the previous bike with a rigid carbon fork i got by pretty well with a 160mm mx2 mechanical in front and a deore v-brake in the rear.

I live in the UK channel islands (I'm a US citizen) and I've found Jenson USA generally has the best international shipping rates.
I can personally recomend the Avid Juicy 5. http://www.jensonusa.com/store/produ...RCH&x=y&cc=USD

I recommend Chain Reaction or Bluesky Cycling. Both usually have good deals on.
