Cantilever Front Brakes on Surly 1x1 Fork?

Guys -- I'm almost finished with my build, but I ran into a problem last night while installing my front cantilever brakes on my new Surly 1x1 fork.

On my old fork there was this upside-down horseshoe thing with a place for my cable housing to route so that when I pull the brake lever the cable would pull the center-pull cable. (See Picture)

On the Surly 1x1 there is no such thing.

    Am I screwed?

Not at all. You do need to buy a brake hanger.

Just looked one of these up. Looks like this mounts on my steerer tube on my fork. Is that correct? I have about 1/2 inch of spacers in there now so one of these should fit.

I like that last one. It looks to me like it mounts directly to to bottom of the fork. Mine has holes right at the bottom. I would avoid taking my headset apart and finding new spacers this way. Is my assumption correct here?

Cobba has some excellent sources. Except for the Paul hanger, they're relativley inexpensive. Good luck.

The bottom one mounts to the crown like this.

The other ones would have to be mounted on the steering tube by removing a spacer or spacers.

Thanks guys. The LBS had some in stock! Now for the time to get it installed and my brakes adjusted, then my re-build will be complete for now.

Thanks, also ... You just gave me another bar/stem solution to an old Bike I wanted to change bars on, but couldn't, due to the front brake design, and an inability to find what I needed.

    Reference pic (not mine).
