    That's a Cannondale Force 40 cam. Suntour also made a similar cam.
    It's not necessary. For the rear you can buy a cable hanger that attaches to your seatpost binder bolt/QR. They use a standard straddle cable and carrier.

    Cannondale F700/F600 bridge cable, old cantilever

    I just acquired a Cannondale F600, & want to use cantilever brakes. They came with CODA 700M brakes, which used an interesting "bridge cable". See attached pics. The cable ferrule inserts into a part..see the red circled area (which rotates on a hole, just above the tire), & the cable continues on to one of the cantilever arms.

    I have the 1 for the front, but need another one for the rear. Does anyone know where I can get one?
