Can I shim rotor at hub?

I have two disc wheelset, and the rotors don't line up with the caliper the same.
Could I shim the rotor away from the hub to keep the same distance between the caliper as the other wheelset?
It would be only two shims, that should do it.
I can fix it............... my dad has an awesome set of tools

    I think it's possible

but I don't know anyone who has done it. You would need to be sure to shim evenly so the rotor remains in the same plane (but I'm sure you have thought of that). I asked the same question when I bought my second disc set and ended up buying a second XT, 317, DT Revolution set because I wasn't comfortable with the other options (shimming the one set of hubs or re-shiming the caliper to change wheels).

    beer can

cut a beer can open, pound it flat and trace a shim out of it. Zinn has this tip in his latest book.

You can shim anything with a beer can.

Cans? They put beer in cans too?

    Weird.

This weekend I took some beer caps, drilled holes in them and cut off the crimped edges. They make purty little shims for the caliper for fork connection. Ya can advertise yur favrite brew too.
Take a look at and consider "liking" my Vegan Athlete Facebook page.
