Break pad wear spec Elixer 5
It seems my Elixer 5 pads are getting low. Is there a spec or rule of thumb when I replace the pads? Is there any pads I should stay away from (brands etc).

Less than 3mm of pad+backing, and you replace the pads.
Generally, pads come in three varieties: metallic, semi-metallic, and organic. They wear best, better, and worst, respectively.
Other than that, not much to go by. EBC and Koolstop make good pads, if you want to try something that isn't from the manufacturer.
If you change the pads to a different type (they usually come spec'd with semi-metallic) you will need to use brake cleaner on the rotors to get rid of the old material build up.

Thanks for the tip. I will pull the pads and measure. I got to clean the bike anyway.
