    brakes on yukon fx?

    they are shimano m415 mechanical disc brakes with 6 inch rotors front and rear. i dont expect them to be really top of the range but any opinions n past experiences plz?
    im an addict.how bout u?

    Had a carpark ride on the yukon and them brakes seemed pretty good for mechanicals, set em up best you can and remember they need time to bed in. Clean only with isopropyl alcohol.

    As you noted....

    they're not top drawer by any means, but the M415 is a serviceable brake system and they work pretty well. They tend to be a bit sensitive to heat build up and will fade sooner than some other brake systems. But unless your doing screaming long downhills or are a heavy rider it shouldn't be that much of an issue. I'd put them in the class of a good v-brake as far as stopping power goes, but with the added advantage of better foul weather performance.

    Anyway, as long as you don't expect the world out of them, they'll work quite well.
