    brake pads

    I have the avid BB5 and I love them not looking to replace em, however I will soon need new pads and I was wondering who makes the best pad, and please explain wy, and where are you buying em?

    If you love your current brakes, replace them pads with the same ones. They are probably the OE sintered pads.

    I think avids sintered pads have a copper/brass looking back plate. While the organics have a black one.

    If you are only buying one set, just get them at your LBS. With shipping, the cost end up being close to one another.

    I was thinking about getting organic what is the difference...what would help me stop best!

    superstar pads are the best OEM i have tried by a mile.

    Organics are made of cheese.... Okay, more like cellulose, the stuff you get from cardboard, paper, trees, and cotton t-shirts. They'll fade quick and wear fast too.
