    Brake Levers

I am most likely getting a new drivetrain for my bike and am looking into getting new brake levers. I currently have Shimano BR-M416 mechanical disc and Gary Fisher Wahoo stock shifters/brake combos. I will be getting new Sram X-7 drivetrain, and I will also need new brake levers with that. So I am looking at the Avid Speed Dial 7 or Avid FR-5. The benefit of the FR-5s are that I can get them for a lot less and free shipping and use a giftcard to REI. Also the FR-5s weigh less. However, I am unsure if they will be two small and if they are sturdy enough. Thanks in advance!!

well the SD7s are what like $35 nowadays? I don't have any first hand knowledge on the fr5s, but my sd7s were well worth the money. Great brake feel, easily adjustable, no complicated design quarks to get tweaked when ya wreck...

The SD 7's are only $10 more at REI. I'd go with them.

Price Point has the 2009 SD 7s for less than $20 for the pair. $17.98 actually. Add shipping and it's probably cheaper than REI still...
