I'm rehabing an old Schwinn Sweetspot frame, and one of the brake bosses is slightly bent. I want to replace it. Not big deal, right? Nope. It uses what look like standard M8 studs which are normally 1.25. However, the thread pitch on these looks to be about 1.33, which leads me to believe the boss isn't metric. Soooooo, does anyone know what these actually are, and as importantly, where I can find new ones?
The standard M8x1.25 is on the left, the Schwinn one is on the right.
Did they ever use SAE 5/16"? I just measured the ones in my bin and all are either 8x1.25 or 10x1.25....I know there are some 1.0 pitches out there, 10mm only I believe.
...just nosed around the web and couldn't find anything other than those three sizes, but I didn't search on Schwinn either.
