Brake Adapter for old Shimano Disc

OK, I've done a lot of reading but I cannot find a firm conclusion so I am here looking for help.

I have a old set of Shimano XT M-755 disc brakes. These are the originals circa 2001 and come with the IS Mount. I have purchased a new frame that comes with a post mount on the rear. The front brake I already have covered with an adapter. The rear mount is more trouble. I am trying to find something definitive if there is a adapter that will convert a IS mount caliper to a post mount on the rear of the frame. The other trick is the new frame is limited to a max 160mm rotor.

One option is to purchase new brakes but the units I already have are virtually new and I would like to keep them if possible.

    Thanks for any help.

Front 160mm post mounts have the same dimensions as rear 160mm post mounts.

    Rear: http://www.hayesdiscbrake.com/wp-con...10722-9_RA.pdf

A front 160mm IS caliper is the same as a rear 140mm IS caliper.
A front 180mm IS caliper is the same as a rear 160mm IS caliper.

A front 160mm IS caliper/rear 140mm IS caliper should would work with a 160mm adapter on rear 160mm post mounts with a 160mm rotor.

Looking at bulky shape of a 160mm front/140mm rear BR-M755, I doubt that it would fit on a 160mm adapter.

If you have a 180mm front/160mm rear BR-M755 IS caliper it might work on the 160mm adapter as it has more clearance but you'd have to use a 180mm rotor.

A 160mm front/140mm rear BR-M755 IS caliper would probably work on rear 160mm post mounts with a 180mm adapter but a 180mm rotor would need to be used.
