Braided steel brakelines, good or bad?

In looking at the lines for my 05 xt discs I am wondering if I should upgrade to better than stock lines. I see the cool looking steel lines but can't seem to determine whom makes them and how much they are. Any info you could give would be great!

I have 1 bike with full stainless hoses (Hope Minis on a Single Speed).

Another bike with standard hoses (Avid Juicy 7 on a Blur 4x).

And another bike with 1 stainless hose in front and a standard hose in back (Hayes 9 on an Uzzi VPX).

The brake feel is definitely "firmer" with the hoses, but I'm not sure that there's a huge performance improvement. If you have to replace the lines, go for it. But if your lines are fine, there's better stuff to spend money on.

Also, I believe the Goodridge lines are the best ones.

Thanks everybody, now I have some research to do. I had tried google but didn't know where to start looking as all I got were lines for MOTO or cars, no MTB.
