Had similar problem. I thought I had a bad brake. Called Hayes. They told me to orient the caliper at 45 degrees instead of vertical because of the new caliper design. In other words, the hose should be coming out at 45 degrees from the caliper rather than straight up. Then it worked and has been great going on close to a year now no rebleed.
