    Best brake cables?

I did a search and found nothing. So what cables are you running for mech. brakes? Currently Im running BB5 brakes and my finger is getting worn out after 15 mile rides. Im leaning toward the Jagwires. Anything better than these?

I don't know how much cable would help with your hand pump situation. Check your set up or change the brake. Do you need more stopping power? Or the lever positon can point too far down, try pointing them forward it'd help relieve the tension on the forearm a bit.

As far as the cables go, Jagwire is nice, I also like Avid Flak jacket.

Sounds more to me like a setup issue. I recently read an article on lever angle. I looked my setup over, and realized my setup was the one they had a big red slash through.

Adjusting the lever angle definitely makes a HUGE difference. Check your angles, left and right. Some folks will say it should be in line with your forearm in a (sitting) riding position, but I adjusted mine from a semi-standing position...as if coasting down a hill. I have noticed much less fatique since this adjustment.

They were slightly lower than the position your talking about but I also have a friend who had to replace his front brake cable and he put a Jagwire on it. Pulling the lever on his bike and pulling the lever on mine is almost like night and day. Mine is alot harder to pull.

The cable could have the kink and/or housing is going bad. Replace both.
