New question here. BB7 users: inner cable dia. 1.5/1.6 mm compatible?

    Dear BB7 users,

I noticed there were two diameter specs 1.5 (Jagwire etc) /1.6 mm (shimano) for brake inner cables the other day. How about casing? I mean casing hole dia not outer dia...

If I use Shimano inner (1.6mm) and Jagwire casing ( 1.5mm hole???) combo for running BB7, it would make more brake drag???

    Any thoughts?

If the cable is sliding easy by hand trough your housing, then it shouldn't be a concern. Usually the inside diameter of brake housing is over 1.6mm, to allow for room where the housing actually curves. The only thing that might be an issue is the ferrules (housing stops) opening diameter, mostly in the case of sealed or nosed ferrules, where they are designed to fit very snugly over the inner cabe to prevent any dirt to enter the ferrule and housing. Make sure everything is aligned and check for any unusual cable friction by moving the cable by hand.

Thank you for reply. OK, I will check ferrules then do handy test of sliding housing.
