    BB7 question. 160 or 180mm?

I'm replacing the BB5's on my Mukluk with BB7's and I'm wondering about rotor size. I'm 5'11 and almost 220lbs and ride some pretty steep terrain. The BB5's just aren't cutting it. Should I go with 160 or 180mm rotors? I'm assuming it's just plug and play once I get the proper adapters for the 180's if that's the way to go?

    Thanks in advance.

I'm 175 and noticed a big improvement when I upped the front rotor on my hardtail to a 180. I would definitely recommend it, and you should be fine keeping the 160 out back. You're correct re: adapters.

Go 180, and yes, with the correct adaptor everything will just go right together.

i run bb5's with 180's and it made a huge improvement. using swisstop pads made another huge improvement (when raining or when it gests sandy, aftermarket organic pads make the brake perf remain more consistent imo).

i'm about to put ripcord and speed dials on my bike, it should improve even further the control i have on these brakes.

@op, why take bb7 and not spyres? about the same price but spyres bite both side of the disc.
