    bb7 mount doesn't fit fork

I have a bb7 disc brakes 180 mm and the mount doesn't align with the fork mounts a mm or 2 off. It's a marzoochi bomber lt z3 from a 1999 dbr x2... that might be the problem. Any ideas?

Sounds like you have a fork with the 48.55mm / 49mm Formula disc brake mount.

There is no adapters that you can buy to fit a IS or PM brake onto that mount and a 51mm IS adapter can't be modified to fit that mount.

    Options:
    Use v-brake
Get a custom brake adapter made
    Get a new fork

Yup. Your fork has obsolete disc mounts. They are also the wrong distance from the axle.

Yep, your problem's been spotted. My take is, you could probably get a better ride out of a new fork anyhow. I remember a time when I thought the bomber my brother had on one of his bikes was nice, but some of this new stuff is lightyears ahead without being too pricy. Of course, if you're just looking for an excuse to buy a new bike, you could do that, and convert this one to a rigid single speed....

Right on, not the answer I wanted but figured it would be. I tried v brakes and the mounts are stripped so they won't tighten. Thanks for the responses.
