    BB7 Install Help

I'm about to install my new BB7's on my new Mavic 517's for my '05 Rockhopper.

What is the best path for the brake line from my levers to the caliper?
What do I use to secure the line?
Any recommendations on brake cable/housing brand, and where to purchase?
    Any other installation tips???

Thanks guys. I always appreciate the advice I get from here.

Use the straightest line you can. For the rear, I ran full length housing and used the guides along the top tube and seat stay. For the front, I ran the cable straight to the caliper. Everything was secured with zip-ties. The front, I just used a tie around one of the fork lowers and around the arch.

For cables, Jagwire Ripcord cables and housing, purchased from

With all the cable routing on your bike, you want to keep the bends as gradual as possible. Before cutting the housing, I like to make sure I have slack to allow the handlebars to freely turn 180 degrees in both directions just so if you crash and your wheel is forced to turn completely around, you won't have any problems with the cables.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.
