    Avid + SRAM = ?????

SRAM recently purchased Avid. I have been waiting for two months for my LBS to get their mitts on a pair of Single Digit 7's with Speed Dial 7 levers. It was not a concern in early January, but the snow is melting and I am getting anxious! My LBS has been trying to get answers from Avid and Quality Bicyle Products and they have come up with nada. They have checked all other Avid styles and they are out of stock, too.

Is anyone else experiencing problems with Avid product delivery?

Will Avid remain the brand or will it become SRAM?

Any recommendations on other similar braking systems?

    Nope

Just ordered a front Juicy (160mm) for my SS and came in without a hitch. Placed my order on a friday and it was in the next friday with standard shipping from a mail order shop.

Be glad you didn't want the 7" or 8" version. These are the only ones that seem to be held up.

No, the six-inchers were held up from Santa Cruz (as in your case) as well. SC swears it's Avid that's the bottleneck, but you can get the 6" Juicys, as I did, from other sources.

I noticed on an on-line retailer that they are expecting stock on 2004 Avid brakes at the end of March. FOUR MORE WEEKS! Fortunately I will be on the beach in Troncones, Mexico for one of them.

Hey, anyone ever ride in Troncones? They rent Mtn Bikes at one of the local outfitters.
