    Avid Shorty Issue

I have been having the worst time getting the rear shorty 6 centered. My best guess is that the tension in one of the return springs is waaaaaaaay off. The only way i can get it close to centered is if i put the left tension screw all the way in and run the right one almost all the way out. They were both mounted on the same hole on the frame. Am i missing something? Where can i get just the return spring if my hunch is correct?

Check that you've got the spacers set up the same on both sides, with the same number of spacers inside the mounting bracket. Also check that the pads are sitting at the height and angle. Also double check that your wheel is centred in the drop outs and the frame/forks.

You could also swap the return springs to the other brake and see if this changes the set up. And putting the wheel in backwards will show you if the wheel isn't dished properly.
